Tastebuddies
A university Figma project
Background
TasteBuddies is the very first project I made using Figma. It is a mobile app made during my first prototyping course at university.
We were tasked to create an interactive prototype in Figma for a system that would reduce food waste.
I worked in a team of 5 people and created TasteBuddies; a platform where people can give away food that they will not be finishing themselves to other people within a nearby area.
Prototyping and testing
We started by making simple wireframes on paper. We then did paper prototyping with around five end users, being students on our campus.
We had two different versions and tried them both with the testers to come up with the user flows we wanted to move forward with.
We took what worked best from both versions and combined them to make a new prototype.
After this, we started working in Figma and added interaction to as many parts as possible. We used the plugin Unsplash for product pictures.

End result
We created a mobile app with a home feed, notification page, chat function, profile page and the ability to post new posts and search around. The home feed is a scrolling view where there are carousels with different categories of goods and ads. We chose the name TasteBuddies to symbolize both food and community in a playful way!
